A Different Story: Gays Baron and Foster get wedded to stop his deportation and then fall in love. Although the first half is surprisingly excellent, the film succumbs to conventionality. Foster is wonderful. Cast includes Perry Emperor, Meg Foster, Valerie Curtin, Peter Donat, Richard Bull, and Barbara Collentine. (108 minutes, 1978)
Raising-Cain: Lithgow is the entire show here. He literally has more roles than you might tally in this over-the-top thriller in reference to a set of double brothers who’ll halt at nothing to acquire kids for their dad’s theological trials and errors. Tongue-in-cheek De Palma workout with nods to Hitchcock, Welles, and Michael PowelI is laced with satire, although the Hurt who couldn’t give his spouse the one thing he desires most: a youngster. Cast includes John Lithgow, Lolita Davidovich, Steven Bauer, Frances Sternhagen, and Gregg Henry. RT. (95 minutes, 1992)
Enemy At The Gates: The Germans are now in Stalingrad. As the battle for the city rages on, an intriguing sub battle goes on. Famed Russian sniper Vassili Zalisev is picking off key Germans at an alarming rate. So, the Germans call in their best sniper, Major Konig. Now these two brilliant snipers stage an intense battle in the background of the destruction going on around them. Vassili carries the hopes of all of Russia. His victory will uplift the spirits of their war efforts.
The Rocketeer: The year is 1938, and pilot Cliff Second makes an incredible discovery. It is a secret jet pack that allows him to fly. He learns that screen star Neville Sinclair wants to give the jet pack to the Nazis. Cliff must elude Sinclair, take down the Nazis, and, obviously, save the girl.
Defenseless: Anticipation thriller in which lawyer Hershey finds her customer ~d lover killed-and finds herself not only speculated of the offense, although stalked by a bizarre slaughterer. Not poor, and a excellent showcase for a first-rate cast, particularly Hurt, who gnaws the landscape in a change-of-pace part. Cast includes Barbara Hershey, Sam Shepard, Mary Beth Hurt, J. T. Walsh, Kellie Overbey, and Sheree North. (104 minutes, 1991)
General Spanky: Slothful Civil Battle tale, balancing kid pranks contrary to an adult romance, was meant to showcase 3 Our Clique megastars in a characteristic-film format; it’s simple to see why there wasn’t an encore. Buckwheat’s role ‘as a servant looking for a master might anger modern-day spectators. Cast includes George McFarland, Billie “Buckwheat” Thomas, Carl Switzer, Phillips Holmes, Rosina Lawrence, and Louise Beavers. (71 minutes, 1936)
